Jewellery making truly saved me at a time in my life when I needed multiple painful joint surgeries and my marriage was in turmoil. I discovered a miracle in the act of making with my hands, either in a technical or repetitive way. It was truly healing and continues to be so for me. This coupled with the diaspora and grief of being separated from my culture and extended family in Finland drives me to work within a Nordic visual language, inspired directly by the objects my mother brought with her from Finland in 1967.
I would love to chat to you about your story or life at an event soon - exhibitions, speaking events, design fairs, workshops, community spaces, online or a personal catch up!
Maybe we can make some art or jewellery together or design a commisioned piece for you xx
