Care Instructions for your Jewellery

Caring for your handmade item

I want you to enjoy your handmade piece of Jessica Larm Jewellery for the entirety of its life.  Handmade work should be treated gently.  My personal view is that little scratches and bumps that occur as a part of usual wearing adds to the human story of the piece!

However, to keep your jewellery looking its best, avoid exposing it to harsh detergents, abrasives and chemicals. I recommend removing jewellery before exposure to water such as showering, washing dishes or swimming.

Protection of the jewellery is recommended during strenuous exercise, lifting or heavy work. Some surface treatments such as oxidisation (blackening effect) are non-permanent by nature and will fade over time. If this fading bothers you, I am happy to reapply for a small fee!

Gemstones and found materials may require more specialised care as they are delicate by nature. Please avoid scratching your delicate gemstones against other surfaces.

A polishing cloth is included with every purchase, regular use will keep tarnishing to a minimum.  Washing your jewellery under lukewarm water with a gentle soap and soft toothbrush can help to keep your jewellery clean.  If you would like your piece professionally cleaned and polished for a small fee please make contact.
